As 2019 comes to an end and a new decade begins, it is easy to let my mind wander through the last year and celebrate all that In Time Tec has experienced. From forward momentum on our business goals, to extraordinary personal growth in our team members, to forming powerful partnerships and everything in between, 2019 brought so much joy, love, and happiness.
When we started the year 2019, the leadership team and I identified four areas of focus for the company:
1- Transform from a services-only company to a products-and-services company.
2- Build a sustainable and impactful leadership pipeline.
3- Grow team and create strong onshore presence to provide technical leaders and bridge the gap between our offshore team and the clients.
4- Grow our brand awareness and expand our presence in the community,
We made great progress on all four of those areas.
Our goal is to increase our product revenue mix from the current 5% to 40% in the next three years. To support this goal, we have launched the ITT Innovation Lab and invested resources in building two other product lines; HP Workpath app development and Cartos Suite, a set of tools for managed print services (MPS). The HP Workpath app development will focus on improving workflow execution for programs that use the scanning and printing functions on HP multifunction devices while the suite of MPS tools will streamline and combine processes for small to medium businesses as well as large enterprises. Along with those products, we have developed key partnerships on the go-to-market side as well.
There is quite a bit of progress we have made on the services side of our business too. We identified ways to cater to the India market and even got our first services project there this year. In Time Solutions, a part of In Time Tec, created a stable and growing business with a powerful team and the right cost structure.
We are constantly looking at every avenue to grow our revenue and deliver on our commitments on-time with quality.
Leadership is one of our core values, and we are committed to the leadership growth in our company. The current leaders spent a significant amount of time and energy to ensure there is a strong pipeline of emerging leaders to drive the next phase of our company's growth. We identified those individuals and hosted multiple offsite meetings with them in both the United States and India.
In September, our 15-person US team went to Bend, Oregon for three days and in November, 110-person India team went to Ranthambore, Rajasthan. Everyone who attended these offsites truly experienced what it means to be a human being who is free
Our goal will always be to find capable people and help them to become even more capable. We spend significant time on learning groups and we don’t shy away from conversations that help and grow people so that they become the best of their best.
We ended the year with 50 people onshore, from 15-20 we had in January of 2019. This has allowed us to create a stronger bond between our clients and our offshore teams that led to improved communication, more effective delivery, and expansion of existing contracts.
Adding more people onshore also meant we needed more people offshore. This kind of growth created a need for more office space in multiple locations! We had a lot of movement in our Meridian office, adding more desks and taking over more space in our building. In Sacramento, we moved into a bigger office and created connections with our new neighbors. We added one more floor in our Bangalore office, and most exciting of all was breaking ground on our very own office building in Jaipur last March. The building will be six-floors with a gym, cafeteria, daycare, and six hotel rooms for our traveling employees.
It is our passion to share the message of what it means to create abundance. In 2019, we made an intentional effort to be present both online and offline. We created our In Time Tec blog and I contributed 10 articles, we started a podcast called Listen and Create, and we began hosting meaningful events in our office as well as increasing our attendance at networking events and conferences in Idaho, California, and Oregon. From seminars and panels to boards and sponsorships, In Time Tec employees are incredibly involved in and dedicated to the communities around us.
In Time Tec was featured in many publications, including Inc, Forbes, and Idaho Business Review. We were named one of the 5000 fastest growing privately-owned companies in the United States, one of the best places to work in Idaho, and a dream company to work for in Rajasthan. In July, HP honored us with the “Leading the Charge” award at their Partner Conference in Barcelona.
In the next decade, we will create even more abundance. Starting with 2020, we have big plans:
I cannot emphasize enough that In Time Tec isn’t a typical corporate company. In Time Tec is an experiment where people come together to achieve their dreams through the company’s dream. We take care of each other and hold each other accountable to ensure we create abundance for everyone.
We’re at a pivotal point in our company’s journey, where our revenue is increasing, the list of clients is growing, and the employee base is expanding. But in the end, none of it matters if we don’t know who we are and why we exist. After spending a decade building this company, it is clear that everyone is willing to do whatever it takes to ensure that we live the dream of creating abundance and making a difference on this planet.
